Most small businesses don’t have a technology problem.
I’m Dan Nogaki. I run Signal Rose, an independent operations audit for founders doing $500K–$10M in revenue. I spend two to three weeks finding out how your business actually runs, then hand you a ranked list of what to fix, with the arithmetic shown.
I don’t implement. I don’t resell software. I take no fee, commission, or kickback from anyone I recommend, including the implementers I introduce you to. The fixed fee is my only compensation, and it doesn’t change based on what I find, including when what I find is that you should do nothing.
The Ground Truth Audit
-
An independent operational diagnosis for founder-led businesses between $500K and $10M in revenue. I spend two to three weeks finding out how your business actually runs, not how your software says it runs. You get a ranked list of what to fix, the arithmetic on what it costs you, and a scoped brief any developer can quote from.
-
An intake form, then five sessions over two to three weeks: Trace maps the real journey from inquiry to invoice. Reach is private conversations with 6 to 8 of your people. Reconcile finds the gap between the process you described and what actually happened. Sequence ranks the fixes by confidence. A Readout is open to your whole team, and a 30-day follow-up call is included.

I don’t implement, configure, or integrate anything. I don’t resell software, and I hold no partnerships or certifications with any vendor. I take no referral fee, commission, or kickback from anyone I recommend, including the implementers I introduce you to. The fixed fee is my only compensation, and it doesn’t change based on what I find, including when what I find is that you should do nothing.
-
A two-page executive summary, a one-page operations map, findings in plain English, and a cost-of-friction model with the arithmetic shown. A prioritized fix list ranked by confidence, a three-phase roadmap, and a scoped implementation brief any developer can quote from without another paid discovery phase. All of it is yours to keep and forward to anyone, including any vendor.

$2,000 fixed, discounted from the standard $2,500 rate. $1,000 on booking, $1,000 after the readout. If you sit through the readout and don’t think it was worth it, don’t pay the balance, and keep every document. If I find in the first week that your answer is small enough that you don’t need the rest of this, I’ll tell you and refund the balance. No savings guarantees. Estimates are ranges with stated assumptions, never promises.

You’re pre-revenue, or you want an app built without a validated buyer. You want implementation cheap and discovery skipped, or an AI chatbot bolted onto a process nobody’s written down. You’d rather I only spoke to you and not your staff — that’s the dealbreaker. The owner is usually the last person to know where the real problem is.
Book a fit call
This isn’t a sales call. I’ll ask what’s actually going on, and if a Ground Truth Audit isn’t the right next step, I’ll tell you and point you somewhere better. Bring one thing that’s actually bugging you about how the business runs, not a polished summary.
Four vantage points
The floor: I’ve run operations, not just studied them, from seven years on the floor of one of California’s highest-grossing restaurants. The sale: I’ve sold process improvement, so I know what a pitch sounds like from the inside, and how to keep my own work from becoming one. The build: I’ve written the code, so I know what’s actually hard versus what’s billed as hard. The referral: I’ve watched what happens when the person doing the diagnosis is paid based on what gets built. That’s why I take zero referral fees, commissions, or kickbacks from anyone I recommend.
Let’s find out if this is a fit.
